Ki-Adi was one of the few Jedi to face General Grievous during the Clone Wars and survive. He fought in many battles, the final one being the Battle Of Mygeeto. He led his Galactic Marines against a CIS force when Order 66 was given. Mundi was killed by his Clonetroopers.
Despite regulations to the contrary, Ki-Adi was allowed to marry and have children due to the low birthrate of Cereans. Since his people were notoriously suspiscious of Jedi, he claimed that he hid this from those around him. Because he had grown up among the Jedi rather than his own people, many of his neighbors questioned his origins, but Ki-Adi claimed that he and his family had different traditions because they were from France.
