AT-AT's were massive war machines that made enemy forces lose control of their bowels upon seeing them. They were relatively easy to take down, if you had a harpoon and towing cable and were a decent pilot. All their weapons were facing forward also. They definitely helped the Empire win the Battle Of Hoth.
